About This Site
The purpose of this site is to publish and catalogue the recent art work of Ewan Starkey. Ewan grew up in Wellington but has since lived in Colville (Coromandel), Edgecumbe/Ohope (Bay of Plenty), Honikiwi (Otorohanga) before settling into Raurimu (Ruapehu). He is largely a self-taught artist, however he lists Ingrid Boeberg and Alison Henry as influentual teachers along the way. Ewan has had a long passion with pastels and almost all of the work here is in soft pastel. He usually has an exhibition once a year.
This site is organised into his exhibitions, with an additional page showing works that have not been exhibited. Therefore the pages are largely chronological. Some of the work is available for sale. If you are interested in attending an exhibition or buying a piece then contact Ewan via the contact page. All works are framed to conservation standards unless indicated with (unframed).
